Help With Premature Ejaculation - Is 5-HTP a Miracle Cure?

What will help with premature ejaculation? Is there a supplement or herb that will do the trick? I asked myself these questions some time ago and researched the answers. However I wasn't looking for some bogus magical cure with unidentifiable ingredients and an exorbitant price tag. I am a scientific person and if somebody claimed that something would work, I wanted to know why.

The process of ejaculation is a complex one with lots of physiological and psychological factors. Normal sex doesn't end in seconds, so if that is what is happening for you then there must be something wrong. I think a large portion of the problem has to do with where your mind is at. Stress levels, anxiety and guilt all play a part in releasing too early. So too does an excess of stimulation and inexperience. None of these things can be fixed with a pill.

There are other things to think about too though. If your head is in the right place, you're happy with how the relationship is going and want to perform better than correcting an imbalance in the body may be of some benefit.

Many people think that the neurotransmitter serotonin plays a crucial role in how we regulate our bodies. It is especially important in digestion but it also helps regulate hunger and our moods and influences sleep pattern. It is believed that serotonin also regulates ejaculation.

The way to correct an imbalance of serotonin in the brain and to raise their levels is to ingest the amino acid 5-HTP. It is present in small quantities in cheese and white meats like chicken. By far the easiest way to get enough is to pick some up in tablet form from a drug or health food store.

Studies have shown that a normal elevated serotonin level will help you last longer in bed and control your ejaculation as you approach the "point of inevitability". If your levels are low, and if you are experiencing premature ejaculation than I'd suggest they are, then taking the dietry supplement may help.

Unfortunately 5-HTP is not a miracle cure. However if taken sensibly in conjunction with a good relationship and used in along with kegel exercises, appropriate sexual techniques and good healthy communication with your partner you may well find an improvement will occur. There are lots more ways to get help to delay ejaculation. Have a look at the excellent links below for more resources.
